For centuries, the Trinity has been upheld as an essential truth in mainstream Christianity—despite not being explicitly taught by Jesus or the apostles. Instead, it was developed through centuries of church councils and philosophical influence, especially from Greek metaphysics. Many are told it’s a divine mystery beyond comprehension. But Scripture warns against forming false ideas about God—whether physical or mental (Ezekiel 14:3; Romans 1:21–23).

Jesus didn’t preach metaphysics. He revealed the Father and invited us into a relationship with Him (John 17:3). The Bible presents God as a Father and Jesus as His obedient Son—not co-equal persons in one essence. When we accept the Trinity without examining it biblically, we risk embracing a man-made tradition over God’s revelation.

This doctrine can obscure the Father-Son relationship, diminish Christ’s role, and replace the gospel of the Kingdom with theological speculation. Rather than clinging to inherited creeds, we’re called to seek the true God as revealed in Scripture—relational, knowable, and real.

Will we believe what Jesus taught—or uphold the traditions of men?
