The Cold Culture of Silence (Part Two) – Charles Whitaker cgg.org
The Cold Culture of Silence by Charles Whitaker is a call to action – to speak up about the consequences of divorce and out of wedlock births that create problems that can last a lifetime for a couple, the single mother, children and society. Keeping silent is not an expression of love, nor does it help the young mother or her children. The article has sobering excerpts from “Parents or Prisons” by Jennifer Morse, that include the risk of poverty, dropping out of school, mental and emotional problems children face in the absence of their father, juvenile delinquency and prison. God is not silent about sin – He warns those willing to take heed to change their behavior. Young people need to hear adults speak up in love and warn them to the risks and consequences of fornication and single parenthood and see how to live by our example and actions.
